Facebook Adds Sell Feature to Groups

Facebook Adds Sell Feature to Groups

Facebook is making it easier for people to buy and sell within groups.

In February, Facebook started rolling out the addition of a new 'sell' feature for groups allowing the posting of products for sale. We say rolling out, as one of our groups just received the notification to add it to the page this week - now being May!

Within the group page, click 'Sell' instead of 'start a discussion'. The page will prompt you for:

  • What you are selling (name)
  • The price
  • Location (optional)
  • Description
  • Photo(s)

Once live, you can go back and mark the product sold, or review a catalogue of your posts.

Interesting feature for groups - heaven knows there are probably hundreds of buy and sell groups in Niagara.

Have fun selling. I wonder how long before we'll have to pay to use it?

  • Besides its search results itself, most people do not use Google's more features and tools who have a standing of being more to the technologically inclined. After the Google Buzz and Google Wave failures, I believe they really want Google+ to succeed. The more +1s a website or blog post gets, the greater it'll be ranked on Google.
