After experiencing difficulties with their previous design company, Walden Today contacted us in 2011 to prepare the print ready files for their monthly newspaper. This paper provided a valued source of news, information and events for the community of Lively, Ontario. Distribution was approximately 5000 papers with an average of 28 pages per issue. We were referred to the paper by a long-time friend and supplier. The relationship lasted until December 2014 with the last issue being produced.
Each month, PRowl Communications designed and created each of the ads - some months as many as 30 ads. Once all the ads were approved, we assembled the content of the newspaper which was efficiently provided to us by the publisher. It was a project that consumed about 4 days of our month, each and every month for 3 years. It was a pleasure working with the owners of the newspaper. They were organized, easy to work with and always had everything to us on-time. It was our job to get it to press on time. Amazingly enough - rarely was there more than one set of alterations done to the newspaper before sending it to print -- this from extremely organized publishers and the attention to detail offered by our team here at YDV Group.
We were always amazed at how much activity the town of Lively had. We felt like we knew some of the people personally. We looked forward to reading the stories each month as if we were part of the town. A few businesses benefited from our creative skills receiving logos as part of their ad creation.
The only thing we don't miss about Walden Today is giving up a weekend each month to complete the newspaper.
